If you’ve worked in the corporate world for any length of time, you know the importance of business planning.
Now, here’s the thing.
You need to forget all that when you’re a one-person enterprise.
Overplanning will get you precisely nowhere.
Simple experimental actions beat complicated plans on paper every time.
In fact, you can succeed with a simple 4 sentence plan
▶️ what you’re going to sell (one thing!)
▶️ which platform you’re going to sell it on (one place!)
▶️ who you’re going to sell it to (one person!)
▶️ how you’re going to tell them about it (one promo method!)
Then take it from there.
Decide on your next experiment depending on the results. You might try to improve the way you do these things (which is usually what’s required when you’re new to marketing) or change one variable.
Do enough experiments and you’ll see success.
One four-sentence plan at a time.
Now, I’m not trying to be a killjoy.
If you love planning, do it if you must.
I love it too.
Just don’t convince yourself you’re getting anywhere by constantly refining your plans and not implementing them.
That’s not work.
Action is the only thing that counts! 💖
