We had our local diet group Christmas lunch on Friday.
My son thought it was funny “Do you just get a couple of lettuce leaves to eat?”
Nope, two courses and wine. 🤣
But anyway, I was surprised (and glad) that the usual question at social events didn’t come up about what you do for a living.
Because I never know how to answer.
Most people don’t understand how you can make a living from the Internet. It doesn’t have a job title. Or a neat and tidy career progression. You don’t see wanted ads in the newspaper or online job agency websites.
But it’s the best kind of career there is once you find your way with it: there is no ceiling, just flexible hours, work harder and make more. No one can sack you!
These days I’ve given up trying to explain and just say I’m a graphic designer which is just a tiny part of what I do so it feels inauthentic and why I’m glad the ladies I’ve shared so much with over the past 27 weeks didn’t ask.
Maybe you have family and friends who are more switched on to this type of career, but my husband and my accountant are about the only ones in my circle who are starting to get it.
