I listened to a lunch and learn session with Steven Bartlett today.
He’s the youngest entrepreneur on Dragon’s Den (a bit like Shark Tank only more British 🤣)
His take on goals is that you need an overriding goal or reason to be in business that you can’t accomplish.
Otherwise when you get there, you’re left a bit flat and thinking what now?
His example was becoming the #1 listened to podcast in the UK versus creating a podcast that reaches and helps as many people as possible in all corners of the world.
When you get to #1 with the first type of goal there’s nowhere to go, but the second type gives you a reason to keep going – it’s what he called a sustainable goal.
And why his podcast is being listened to on many airlines and in prisons and more and more countries.
So now I’m trying to think of a big goal that works for me, but I haven’t decided on the couple of hours since lunch. 🤣
