I was sitting under a heat lamp at the hairdressers today thinking about my business.
How crazy keen is that? LOL
But now there are no magazines allowed (or coffee 😢) there’s a lot of thinking time there.
Anyway, I came to the conclusion that I have a lot of missing parts in my business. Although…
I have products. ✅
I have a website with a shop where I sell them ✅
I have customers who I reach via email ✅
I have affiliates who help me to promote ✅
Yay!
I don’t have any other sources of traffic, paid or unpaid. ❌
I don’t have content on my website designed to attract search engines ❌
I don’t have social media account sending traffic either ❌
And I don’t do paid ads ❌
So it’s pretty obvious what things I should be working on this year.
Extra traffic means selling the same products from the same shop to more customers. It would be crazy not to do that. And I started giving myself a hard time for not doing it before.
But then I’ve been flat out building up everything I’ve done so far and you can only do so much at a time.
So I decided it’s actually good to build a simple system that brings in revenue first.
And then build on that step by step.
It’s less overwhelming that way.
And maybe my business works because I didn’t try to do it all at once.
That focus thing again!

A Simple Pinning Business
If you have yet to find a revenue stream to focus on, take a look at the business model Kristie Childs uses with her pinning system Simply Pin It.
She makes a great income pinning affiliate products using eye-catching pins.
And that’s just about as simple as it gets for an online business!
You can do this before you build the rest of your business if you want a simpler way of getting started.
Have your Pinterest account sending traffic to affiliate links at first.
Then once you have a site and products, you’ll be able to direct traffic to them as well as continuing to to reap the benefits from your affiliate pins.
Simply Pin It is Kristie’s system for using video pins that get a lot more traction than image pins.
I bought her original affiliate pinning course when it first came out and her latest video pin course yesterday. Both are excellent. You can bet I’ll be doing this as part of my traffic strategy this year!

A NEW KIND OF DIGITAL PLANNER!
I love it when when Marian brings out a new product because she always has something a little different to offer and her latest course called MELLO is no exception. This one is a new kind of digital planner based on Trello. I use Trello boards for so much already that I’m looking forward to digging into this course especially now that I’ve seen how well these sell on places like Etsy.
And even better, the competition is light – only around 500 examples there. Marian demonstrates a wedding planner like this. Her system is perfect for an event planner but there are many examples of different uses.
