Burn out is so common for solopreneurs that we have to be careful to guard against it by taking regular breaks.

These need to be scheduled if that’s the only way we can be sure to take them,

But what is a break?

This week, I found myself taking a break by listening to a podcast…which was all about business.  😱

Another time, I took a break from writing…to read my email and scroll through Instagram.

But although these are easier tasks that take less focus and concentration, they are not really breaks.

They just trap you into thinking they are.  ☹️

For me, a true break is walking the dog in the hills, meeting a friend for lunch, or watching another episode of “This is Us.”

Your idea of a break might be different.

I’ve found after a true break, I’m less tired than after a pseudo-break, and the real work gets done much faster.
