I love this quote from James Clear:

“The person who gets 1 shot needs everything to go right.
The person who gets 1000 shots is going to score at some point.
Find a way to play the game that ensures you get a lot of shots.”

It's saying the more you create, test and offer, the more likely you are to find what works, and I agree with that.

But taking lots of shots doesn’t mean throwing endless mediocre work at your audience to see what sticks. Your audience is not the wall in a spaghetti test. 🤣

Practise privately. Create several versions. Ask trusted people for feedback. Then publish the work that is good enough to be useful, enjoyable or worth paying for.

For the perfectionists among you, “Good enough” is not the same as perfect. It just means you have read the book, tested the tool, checked the facts and improved the obvious weak spots.

And you don’t need to know whether something will succeed before releasing it. None of us knows that.

But you should be able to say, “I would happily buy, read or recommend this myself.”

Take plenty of shots, but respect your audience with every one you make public. 💖
