This is not the email I thought I was going to write today. The title was going to be “It’s a special kind of day today because…” and the topic about it being Mothering Sunday in the UK and my “little ones” who are 24 and 31 years old. (Being a mum never actually gets old 💖)
But anyway, that was going to be my topic but instead I had a problem with Paypal when I tried to buy Melissa’s product below. The message didn’t seem to make sense.
So I called them up and apparently, I need to jump through a lot of hoops to prove who I am and to change my name on the account from the name I’ve had there quite happily since 2005 (my actual name but not in the format on my government id) And after that’s done, I need to send a whole lot of documentation off to verify that I’m a real person. This may take a week or more they say “depending how many people they have in the verification queue.”
Meanwhile, I’m not allowed to spend money or receive money so that is going to be a nightmare trying to run a business.
Not helped by me being out of town from the crack of dawn tomorrow and not able to access all my stuff.
Those of you who have had fun and games with Paypal know how this feels, I’m sure.
If not, you can probably imagine.
So much for a relaxing break. 😱
But stuff happens in business, and we just have to pull up our big girl panties and roll with the punches.
And my mantra is definitely coming in handy right now: “Whatever happens, I’ll handle it” because you just have to. And somehow you do.
I’ll have my laptop with me and will extend my launch for a few days in case anyone still wants to buy.
And pay my bills as soon as I can too.
I’m sorry about all this.
