I’m a bit adverse to risk. I know many of us are.

I let the dare devils climb K2, put vast sums in dodgy currencies or stock, and cross the Atlantic single handed in a yacht.

That’s not for me.

Even in business I’m not much of a risk taker.

But knowing that can count against you, I’ve had to get over it.

Because some kind of risk is involved every time you want to grow your business.

You’re investing time, effort and usually money to get where you want to be.

And it might go horribly wrong.

But return on investment means you have to invest in the first place.

And all investment is inherently risky.

In October 2020, I took more risks than I ever have, buying expensive courses, taking on staff, employing a coach.

I bit off so much expense, it felt like there was no going back.

I winced and jumped in with both feet. I had to make it work.

Taking that risk lit a fire under my posterior, kick starting a set of actions that brought me the results I have today.

So you won’t hear a single regret from me about the risks I took.

It could have been a big old let down and waste of money.

But you’re not going to be better off if you drift on for years doing what you’ve always done until you give up.

There’s no possible upside to that.
