Hi
I bought a lot of paint online this year for renovating my house. Today, the paint company emailed me with the subject line: “Darker evenings call for warmer walls.”
Lovely line. But I’ve just painted the walls. Am I meant to do them all again because it’s October? 🤣
No one wants to repaint their whole house every season.
It reminded me that a marketing idea can sound good in a meeting and still make no sense to the person receiving it.
Before you send an email or create an offer, picture someone who has recently bought from you and someone who hasn't got endless time and money who may be about to make a purchase. What would be useful to them now? Lead with that! 💖
Bonus AI tip: Give AI your next promotional email and ask: “Read this as someone who bought my product last month and as someone who may be about to buy it. Is this useful or slightly absurd for these audiences? Suggest one way to make the message relevant to both new and recent customers or draft two separate messages I could send to each group.” 🤔

THIS WEEK'S LIMITED-TIME BONUS! MICROPRODUCT IDEA GENERATOR
This week’s bonus is a little different! Instead of my usual report, I’ve created an AI tool you can put straight to work, with a short guide and four worked examples. Microproduct Idea Generator helps you find your next “I’d love to make that” idea.
If you’ve asked AI for product ideas and received the usual planners, checklists, and workbooks, you’ll know how uninspiring that can feel. This tool digs into specific frustrations, little pleasures, and overlooked details of your audience’s life to uncover more interesting possibilities. Give it an audience, add any preferences, such as printables only or no video, and explore 18 small product ideas. Then follow whichever catches your eye, right through to getting help creating it.
It’s portable, too. Use the instructions in your preferred AI chat tool. Attach the instruction file if it supports uploads, or copy and paste the text. There’s nothing to install.
HOW TO GET IT The tool and guide are FREE this week only as an alternative to a bonus from the bonus page when you use my affiliate link to buy any offer marked as qualifying from now until the end of day Monday 26th October. Eligibility varies by offer, so please check the label. (To claim just send your invoice/purchase details to [email protected] giving your choice of bonus)
The offers below contain affiliate links or ads for products I recommend. The opinions expressed are my own. I will receive a small commission if you buy through my affiliate links, but the product will not cost you more.

You can use the training when planning your own year ahead and teach the whole process to your customers just as they are deciding what to focus on at the end of the year. Students learn to look back at what’s been happening in their business, describe what they want from each possible focus area, test each one against the commitments already in their year, and mark it First, Next, or Not Now and then keep every decision in front of them on a Priority Compass, with a date to check in. The Student Workbook stands on its own, so they can complete it in two to three hours, with or without you. But you also receive everything you need to teach it live or to record videos.
