I love the way AI makes our lives easier. And I also dislike it for the same reason.
It just feels like it’s now too easy to get it to do all your work and all your thinking.
So much so, the online world is filling up with undifferentiated, mediocre slop.
It has words but no real substance, no human touch. And often, it’s not even right. No one checked the content for hallucinations.
It’s not the first time this kind of thing happened in my time online. Years ago, Google SEO meant shambolic articles pumped full of keywords were getting to the top of search. Every page of results was crammed full of slop. Google had to quickly put a block on that before people stopped using their app.
And on Amazon KDP, people were publishing PLR books with essentially the same content with different titles, annoying customers. Amazon banned the accounts of those who gave their customers that bad experience.
Now, I’m not knocking saving time and energy. I’m all for that. I use AI daily. But I am saying, please don’t take it too far. It will come back and bite you in the end. If you are pumping out sloppy content and continue down that path, eventually you’ll find no one will be listening.
Don’t just click a button and call it done! This matters more than anything. Improve the content, check it, and put something of you in it. An extra 10 minutes here and there will make all the difference and there’s no reason to begrudge the time when you saved hours by using the tools. 💖
