I just read a quote by Warren Buffett which I’m trying to work out if I agree with (at least as far as it applies to online business rather than investment.) 🤣
He said, “Diversification, as a practice, generally makes little sense for anyone that knows what they’re doing.”
I guess there’s a partial truth there.
You’ll definitely get on much faster if you focus on one LUCRATIVE thing and learn it inside out and upside down so you’re an expert.
The hard part is knowing what is lucrative and what is likely to stay lucrative for some time.
If world events or new technology mean there’s suddenly little demand for your area of expertise, you had better adapt and/or get good at another thing fast.
So I still think the most sensible strategy is to diversify to a certain extent, but to get skilled enough at one thing so you can earn a good income before you diversify and tackle another area.
If you’re trying to follow more than one path, does it make sense to stop and focus on one in 2024 until you make it work? 💖
