Hi

I’ve noticed lately that if I’m not careful, my day gets filled up with trivial stuff and I don’t make progress on bigger projects.

I don’t know if you’ve heard the big rocks analogy, but it’s about an ordinary glass jug acting as the time you have each day.

Various grades of rock are the tasks you have to do.

If you half fill the jug with sand, and then you add a layer of pebbles, and then a layer of small rocks, you’ll have trouble fitting in any big rocks at all.

But if you start with the big rocks, you can still add a few pebbles or small rocks, and quite a bit of sand.

You can even pour in a glass of water.

The big rocks represent your most important projects.

And the smaller stones, sand, and water are the busy work that we tend to focus on because it’s easier to do and think about

But if you make progress on your “big rocks” first every day instead of diving into all the other tasks on your list and filling up your “jug”, it could change your life or business or both.

Now I just need to decide exactly what my “big rocks” are. Meanwhile, I’ll be over here looking at my email. 🤣 💖
