A product or service is said to be worth whatever people will pay for it.
And as a seller I try to pack value into my products.
But I often think about the other side of the coin too.
And that’s the value that people get from whatever they bought.
I guess like most people, I’ve been disappointed by a few products and courses in my time. Often the ones with the most glowing sales letters and highest prices. 😟
How do I deal with that?
Provided that the thing actually does what it says in the description, I have to admit it lived up to its promises, even if they were a bit over-hyped.
And then, in order not to stay disappointed for long, I tell myself that whatever value I get from it is in my hands.
You see, you can buy a $47 product and make thousands from it – whether that’s a template you can resell or a training course that teaches you to grow your business.
But just like joining the gym with the promise of getting fit, and then not going after the first month, we often buy digital products and don’t extract maximum value from them.
Yet, we could.
My strategy to avoid disappointment is to make more than the cost of the product or course from each item I buy, even if it’s one template or one nugget of information I didn’t already know (and often when you look at the detail, it can be much more!)
Could you do that too by taking a fresh look at those items you were initially disappointed by?
