I’m always talking about taking action and working hard and it’s true, you have to do both these things to succeed online.
But I don’t mean you should never take a break.
The hours every day when I’m not taking action on my business are some of my most productive times!
They are the times when ideas happen, when plans come into my head without having to think too hard.
That doesn’t work if you fill your breaks from work with endless entertaining Instagram reels or podcasts and YouTube videos about business topics.
The most productive times happen when you give yourself space to think between all the input you’re giving your brain.
The problem today is that we have so much input available, and you have go against the tide of advice to go for a walk or do the dishes without having something to listen to.
Doubling up like that is an option, so if you’re up against a deadline or there’s something you really want to listen to and you don’t otherwise have time, they are great ways to slot that podcast in.
But blocking out all your available time for thinking?
Not so great.
