I look at lots of marketing course and software offers online.
They arrive into my inbox like a raging torrent that never ends.
I’m sure I’m not alone in that.
If you’re not careful these things can knock you off your feet.
Especially the ones that have that oh so seductive EASY button.
You know the kind. They have all kinds of promises.
No need to have a website.
No need to have a list.
No need to have a product.
No need to spend hours toiling over your laptop.
And then they say, just hit this EASY button and give me your money.
Please don’t do that!
While it’s true you won’t need a website, list, or product.
And you won’t need to spend hours doing what they tell you to do.
You also won’t have a viable business.
The truth is, if anything were that easy, we would all be doing it.
And the competition would be so rife, that you would sell virtually nothing.
When you see the EASY button, run like crazy in the other direction.
And think about where to put your efforts.
Into a real business.
The Easier Button
While I’m not a fan of the EASY button, I don’t think we should make things harder for ourselves than they need to be.
As I said yesterday, we don’t have to slave away trying to do everything ourselves. We can get help.
And when it comes to products, we don’t have to start from a blank screen.
If you want to create a course, chances are you can get a great head start by buying a white label product from quality providers like Coach Glue or Content Sparks.
Ditto if you’re creating a workbook.
I created a business selling planners and journals that are ready for commercial use.
With all these products you can sell them as they are or, for best results, tailor them for your branding, your business, and your style and voice.
Start with quality and improve it!
Then sell it.
There’s effort involved. Many won’t do it. But it’s still easier than starting from scratch and can shave weeks off your creation process.
