This really gets my goat and no, in case you’re not familiar with that expression, it’s not the same as G.O.A.T. (greatest of all time.)
In fact it couldn’t be more different. 🤣
It’s means it upsets, irritates and irks me!
And that’s when people say in their ads “no design skills required.”
I’ve even copied it from their ads into my newsletter at times and for that, I apologize. Profusely.
Because it’s rarely the case, though I agree absolutely that AI creates some amazing images now.
Much faster and better than I probably could in limited time (and sometimes with unlimited time to be honest!) They knock my socks off.
And I use AI images a lot.
But these images pretty much all need editing even though you can now get ChatGPT to do it!
How do you know how to edit? Or which graphic to choose from a number of options? With design skills!
Here’s an example of my latest bonus book cover. Most people would take the first version below and call it good not even thinking what is wrong with it, but there’s so much text and clutter all over it, the eye doesn’t know where to look. And there’s a grey line down the left hand side.
Five minutes human direction to edit with ChatGPT and you get the example on the right. Not a million miles away but calmer and clearer (though now a bit fuzzy because reduced in size to fit the newsletter 🤣) The devil is in the details!
