People often say things like “I want more sales, but I hate promoting my work,” or “I want to write a book, but I don’t have time to work on it.”
That little word "but" says a lot.
We know what we want. Our goal is achievable. But we don’t want some of the things that come with getting it.
Most worthwhile goals have a price attached, whether that's time, effort, practice, discomfort, or just doing something we would rather avoid.
So we need to change that word from "but" to "and I'm prepared to."
Or give up the goal altogether.
The funny thing is, before you take action, you may be imagining how much you have to do, how much time you need to set aside or, how bad things are going to feel.
And it's often not as bad as you think. So you just have to try it!
After you do, you can see if it's really that difficult and properly assess whether it's worth it to achieve your goal.
Either way, you're not left in limbo, wanting something with a "but" attached and not moving at all. 💖
