When you’re looking at potential projects for your business, don’t just assess them for profit. There are lots things to think about before you jump in and if you’re choosing between options, give them a score in all these areas to help pin down what you want to do:
PROFIT – how much you will earn from the work after expenses
FUN – how much you will enjoy working on it
VIABILITY – whether your chances of success are high or low
SKILL – how good are you at the things this project requires or will you have to spend 6 months skilling up?
SPEED – how quickly can this generate results?
ENERGY – how much will it take out of you? It may be enjoyable but also exhausting!
FREEDOM – does this create more freedom or more obligations?
RISK – what happens if it fails? Losing $50 and a weekend is very different from losing $5,000 and six months.
ALIGNMENT – does this move you closer to the life you want?
Score your current projects too. It can help you decide what to continue and what to drop like a hot potato. 💖
