I suddenly realized my so-long-this-is-ridiculous “To Do” list was full of stuff that shouldn’t be there, even though I really know better.
It was full of things that will never be done, and not because I’m avoiding them.
But because they are not projects with an end date but the kind of tasks that you need to keep doing.
If you have cut the grass or clean the kitchen on your list, you can cross them off when you’ve done them, but you’ll need to keep adding them back on.
So what’s really needed is a To Do list of one-off tasks that you really can get through and see the back of.
And a set of routines for maintenance tasks that you do on a regular basis.
Plus a set of tasks you decide on each day that draws from both lists.
I knew this but I wasn’t actually doing it. No wonder my To Do list was a mile long.
Which makes me think, what else do I know that I’m not doing?
Probably a lot!
